Public Consultation Called by AM and MP
Following the announcement that 14 post offices in the Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency are due to close the areas MP and AM have launched a series of public meetings. The first four will take place on Thursday June 19th, Friday June 20th and Saturday June 21st to discuss the impacts on the Saron, Gorslas, Rhydcymerau and Blaenau communities. Further meetings will be held for each of the post offices under threat.
Adam Price MP said:
“These proposals have hit our local communities hard and I think it is vital that the local residents have a platform to make their views known. We have called these meeting to get the community together and united in fighting these proposals.”
Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM added:
“We have invited the Royal Mail to attend each of these meetings to hear first hand what impact the closures will have on the people reliant on the services offered by the post office. I urge everyone who is concerned with these plans to come along to your local meeting and make your voice heard. We will be holding meetings in each of the 14 communities affected in order to put the best case forward for opposing these plans.”
