Carmarthenshire Attractions Can Rival the Best of Britain
More can be done to capitalise on the excellent tourist attractions in Carmarthenshire according to its local MP. Adam Price say that there are fantastic opportunities in the Carmarthenshire area that can compete with the anything else Britain has to offer.
Adam price said :
”We have some first class visitor attractions in Carmarthenshire but are not capitalising on their full potential, both in terms of attracting more people and creating new jobs. The National Botanical Garden of Wales is a case in point. Few would doubt the Garden’s stunning location and appeal but in a very competitive market it needs to be able compete with the likes of the Eden Project in Cornwall and Kew Gardens. Visitors to these latter destinations often go for extended breaks, incorporating package deals to stay in local hotels – making the experience a more relaxed and enjoyable one and certainly more rewarding for their respective economies.”
He added:
“Investment in a new hotel in close proximity to the Botanical Gardens would tempt visitors from further a field. The hotel would subsequently be sourced with food and drink from local suppliers – acting as a catalyst for further jobs and investment. Conference facilities could also be provided for those with an interest in the horticultural industry.”
Closing Mr Price said:
“With a little imagination and a more holistic approach to the sustainability of attractions in Wales, we can raise the bar and offer tourists a unique and memorable experience.”
