Broadband Breakthrough for Cwmdu Residents
A local politician is celebrating a breakthrough in bringing broadband to the Cwmdu area. Adam Price MP , who has been long term campaigner for greater access to broadband, has said he is delighted after receiving news from the Economy and Transport Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones AM that BT have removed the line concentrator which has been holding up broadband services.
Adam Price MP said:
“This is fantastic news. We have spent a great deal of time highlighting our concerns with the Assembly and BT and are delighted that the line concentrator has now been removed. This should now provide access to residents wishing to receive broadband in the area who have been affected by this piece of technology.”
Adam added:
“Having campaigned on this issue for so long I am pleased there has been progress in enabling people in Cwmdu to receive a broadband service. Of course this will not ensure everyone can access the service, and for those that can not we will continue to put forward their case, but it will provide a service for some people who have had difficulty accessing a high speed internet connection.”
Ieuan Wyn Jones AM said:
“I realise that there may still be some residents and businesses who are unable to receive a broadband service over their phone-line owing to the length of the line to the exchange. Any residents or businesses that subsequently find they still cannot get a broadband service should phone my officials on 01443 846700.”
