Ambulance Service Concerns Highlighted
Concerns about the ambulance service in Carmarthenshire have been taken up by the county’s MP. Adam Price, who has previously held meetings with Alan Murray Chief Executive of the Ambulance Service to highlight his concerns, has written to the Minister for Health and Social Services at the National Assembly for Wales. Adam is keen to ensure that issues relating to response times and staff morale are addressed.
Adam Price MP said:
“I have written to the Health Minister having spoken with frontline workers in the service and constituents who are all very concerned about response times, especially in rural areas. I know that the chief executive shares my concern and is committed to addressing this issue but there is more work to be done and I am keen to see that the views of my constituents are addressed. I did spend a morning with a paramedic crew a little while back so I am very much aware of the everyday difficulties they have in delivering the very committed service they do.”
Adam added:
“The issue of staff morale is very concerning and was recently noted in a critical investigation on the Welsh Ambulance Service by the Assembly’s Audit Committee. Adam and I have made our views known on this issue previously and are well aware from discussions we have had with workers on the frontline of the service that morale has taken a hit. It is important now that the management can find ways to bring staff on board with any developments and changes to ensure that the whole service is working together to resolve the problems facing the service.”
